It is not an unofficial automation tool driving a personal WhatsApp account, and it is not a reseller holding the number on the customer's behalf — the WhatsApp Business Account is registered in the customer's name through Meta's embedded signup, and MsgGenie's Tech Provider status is what allows that to happen inside the panel rather than through a third party. They apply to every Cloud API vendor and are the reason bulk WhatsApp messaging behaves unlike bulk email or SMS. - A business cannot start a conversation with free text. The first message must use a template Meta has reviewed and approved. Approval is Meta's process; it commonly takes minutes to a few hours. - Templates carry a category — marketing, utility or authentication — and the category affects what Meta charges and what content is permitted. - When a customer messages the business, a 24-hour customer service window opens. Inside it the business can reply in free text. Once it closes, only a template will deliver. - Recipients must have opted in. Sending to purchased or scraped lists is how numbers get restricted, and it is a breach of WhatsApp's terms regardless of the tool used. - Meta bills the business for messages separately from any software fee.
